You are probably wondering about the title of this post, but below I will share some unique ways you can use aluminum foil; it’s not just for cooking anymore.
- Scrub your pots and pans – If you run out of your handy dandy steel wools, no worries you can use foil. Just ball up a piece of aluminum foil and scrub away..it works!
- Speedy Ironing – To cut your ironing in half, place a sheet of foil between the cover and the ironing board. The foil conducts heat to speed up your ironing.
- No more grimy finger prints – protect your knobs from grimy, slimy little hands. Wrap foil over the sink handles and doorknobs and avoid fingerprints from your little Picasso.
- No more soup skin – Cut a piece of foil the size of your container and rest it directly on your stew or soup. Cover and store in refrigerator or freezer and say ‘good-bye’ to yucky soup skin.
- Tie them up – Did you run out of cooking twine? No worries, cut the foil into thin strips and use to tie up the legs of your roaster in oven. A thin strip of foil is the perfect solution.
- Sharpen your scissors - In between professional sharpening or for the inexpensive scissors you don’t want to pay to sharpen, use aluminum foil to keep your scissors in top form. Cutting through 6-8 layers of aluminum foil will improve the cutting surface of most scissors.
- Soften your hardened brown sugar – instead of placing the block of sugar in the microwave, wrap in some aluminum foil and bake in a 300° (Fahrenheit) oven for 5 minutes.
- Unique wrapping paper – if you’ve run out of wrapping paper, try cutting up some foil to wrap your gift. You can create bows too by twisting different sized strips of foil.
