If you’re like me, you are always finding ways to relax and reduce the daily stress that seems to creep up when you least expect it. One of the ways I like to relax is by getting my hands dirty. But, don’t mistake that for gardening, that’s my hubby’s project. I, on the other hand like to sand, refurbish, paint and give new life to old furniture pieces. This is not a new venture, in fact it began years ago with a dresser for my little girl’s room. Remember the crackle look? I actually gave new life to an old dresser using that technique. That should tell you how long ago that was.
Well, fast forward to the present and with my children more independent, I have found my way back into the garage. Although my hubby grumbles at times when he sees the ‘ugly furniture’, he is pleasantly surprised with the outcome.
It all began with the ‘ugly dresser’.
This is what it first looked like:

Then I found this beauty:
That transformed into this: (and sold)
As you can tell, it’s been fun and the fun continues.
My latest project is this one:
I’ve already decided what it will be transformed into and will be sharing it next week.
So, my question is for you. What do you do to reduce your stress? Some will read, run, dance or turn to crafts. Share what you do..who knows you may help someone in need without realizing it.
Be sure to come back next week to see my latest project’s transformation.
