Ever find yourself with an ugly piece of furniture and wonder to yourself, how did this land in my home? Did you know you can give it a new life with a simple make-over? One of the ways I enjoy my ‘free time’, (notice how I added quotations) is by making-over ugly furniture or giving furniture some needed TLC. Believe it or not, sanding and painting is truly relaxing, when the dogs are not running in and out of the garage or the tree isn’t releasing leaves or the children realize that mommy is missing and come searching for me. But all kidding aside, you can give your furniture a make-over and enjoy it for decades.
If you don’t have ‘ugly’ furniture, you can visit thrift stores, yard sales or Craig’s List. This is where I found this lonely and might I add, ‘not so pretty’ dresser.
I saved this dresser from a family that didn’t have the patience for it any longer. With a little love, care and paint, I transformed this dresser into this:
This dresser is much happier now with it’s recent make-over and will look extra pretty in my bedroom. But I’m not done yet, since giving this dresser some love and attention, I’ve decided to adopt a few more pieces. I will share those transformations soon. But until then, I wanted to share some other inspiring renovations I found on one of my favorites sites: Pinterest. Check out the love and attention that these pieces received.
