I had to share this photo that was taken of my 8 year-old climbing a huge wall to go zip lining. Recently he attended a Christian Camp-Out weekend with his dad and older brother and one of the activities was to climb up a wall that was 40 feet high! Once the wall was climbed then the preparation of zip lining began.
As you can imagine, my little guy was a bit worried but climbed the wall with determination. Once up on the platform the fear creeped in. With much coaxing and prayers he finally let go and zip lined across the camp site. It took him nearly 10 minutes to jump and let go but when he did a huge smile was seen on his face. The best part of all was that he climbed the wall again and jumped without hesitation!
This story is one that inspired not only his dad but me as well. This is a child that was not expected to live. He is a true gift from God. He was prematurely born at 30 weeks and weighed a mere 2lbs 4oz. Now 8 years old he is near perfect and truly inspiring.
How many adults do you know that would climb a 40 foot high wall and zip line across a wooded area? Not many, but my little guy not only found the courage within him, he trusted his dad, brother and church family to let go. His faith is truly strong and an inspiration to us all daily.
