raving-fansSocial media can be a very dominant marketing tool to aid you grow your business and develop an active raving fan base. The first step to developing a raving fan base on social media platforms like Facebook & Twitter is creating a fun fan page or Twitter account. The hardest part is getting people to like your page and engage with your content. Here are some key methods you can use to attract ideal customers and then turn them into your raving fans.

1. Always share very interesting photos and videos

Photos and videos are the most engaging items in any social media, so make sure you share them whenever possible. These photos have to be interesting and related to your business or to the interests of your ideal client. You can share images of you product, videos of you dealing with your clients or even videos of an event you attended.

Your videos have to be educating and fun to watch. You can share testimonial videos or an interview with different individuals in your industry. Remember using more than one media type will definitely invite engagement from your fans.

2. Ask engaging questions

One of the most engaging methods is asking your fans some questions about what are they struggling with, what is happening in their lives and also what their thoughts about certain issues are. If you show them that you are genuinely interested in them then they are more likely to respond.

At first you might get few or no responses, but do not give up, keep asking your questions either once a week or every few days. This will familiarize your fans with the type of questions you ask and within no time they will start responding and engaging with you on daily basis. Try different questions and find out which type of questions are they more likely to respond to.

3. Invite questions

Finding out what your potential clients need is one of the greatest ways to provide useful content and also to let them know that you are listening and ready to serve them. Have an open-door policy and let it be known to them that they can ask you anything at anytime. Invite them to post on your page or even email you.

4. Respond quickly and consistently

Respond to their comments quickly. This does not mean that you have to sit around and wait for their comments but make sure that you check for any comments at least once a day. All social media platforms can be set up to send you a notification when someone comments, so you do not have to log in to see if there is any comment which needs your immediate attention. This is a great way to stay on top of things and respond in a timely manner. A fast response means that you are listening to your fans.

5. Make sure that you are helpful

The most crucial thing about developing an active fan base is sharing researched information that your fans want and can use in their day-to-day life. You can use the above methods to discover what they really need and then develop your marketing tactics around this content. Write articles or make videos about what your fans have said they want or need. This is a sure fire way to develop a great fan base!

Raving fans are loyal clients who love your services or products and if you play your cards right they will end up telling their friends and family about about you. Some raving fans may even sell your product for you!

Great advice Kim. I would like to add that one should be patient too. Online (and any) marketing for that matter is all about relationships. Don’t blow things by being over eager to conduct business. It could backfire on you.
