Is Self Motivation Possible?

Is Self Motivation Possible?

Staying positive and up beat is not an easy task. It seems that when you’re happy and motivated something always seems to come up to bring you down. What you must understand is that you are not alone. Everyone suffers from bouts of depression and doubt. What separates most is the drive to continue to move forward.

Identifying what triggers negative thoughts is essential to staying positive and motivated. Thoughts and emotions are very strong but if you can focus on what triggers positive emotions and keep the negative ones to a minimum you are on your way to proving that self motivation is possible.

There are factors that will help with self motivation such as focus and confidence. Let’s look at those factors now…

Focus  - staying focused may perhaps be one of the most difficult to accomplish. One of the main reasons may be due to the many distractions in your life. Family, business, friends, money issues and the list can go on and on to some of the reasons that may interfere with your focus level. The lack of focus is usually connected to fear; the fear of loss, the fear of disappointment, the fear of broken relationships.

One way to gain the skill of being focused is to develop a goal but not just any goal. The goal must be a positive one such as a new career, going back to school or developing a way to make more money. This goal must be one that is tangible and attainable and not merely one that is unreachable or fantasy driven. Staying focused on your goal and taking action towards this goal are essential to staying motivated.

Confidence – this may be the main culprit in squashing your motivation. If you focus on what you want and not necessarily on what you have, your confidence will definitely be affected. When you focus on your past failures and disappointments or compare yourself to others it will certainly affect your confidence. Instead of focusing on what others have, focus on you and be grateful. Start by making a tangible list of all the blessings in your life. Too often the littlest things are overlooked and those are the ones that are truly the biggest blessings.

Working on your mindset will boost your confidence. It may sound like a broken record to some, but focusing on your gifts and your strengths will boost your confidence. This focus takes work and is difficult. Don’t shy away from the work because it’s difficult. Remember the things that are the most difficult in life and truly worth the fight. Don’t take the easy road. Believe that you deserve success and your mind will focus on these positive thoughts. It begins with you and your thought process. You must believe and work towards achieving your goals and your confidence will soar.

So, is self motivation possible? Absolutely!!

As long as you are willing to work at staying focused on the positive and building up your confidence, self motivation is attainable. Be sure to surround yourself with positive thinking individuals and set attainable goals and most importantly –> confidently push forward to achieve them.

Self motivation is so important. It is so easy to spiral into a negative mindset. and this is when your life can start to fall apart. You need to do whatever it takes to keep positive if you want to thrive in this lifetime,.

Exactly! Many people have forgotten what makes them happen and it doesn’t have to revolve around money…getting back to the basics of conversations, enjoying the outdoors and surrounding yourself with ‘positive’ and happy people is the start:) Thanks for stopping by!

Self motivation is indeed possible. Just need to be able to see thru the forest sometimes and visualize the goal you are trying to achieve.

Great post Daisy. I find that focusing on one task and completing it is a great way to pick myself up when I am feeling down. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and spurs me onto tackling the next project.
