Seek Out the Attic People

Take a look around you. Do you see happy and content people or do you see miserable and confused people? Which are you attracted to? Too often folks would rather stay in the middle but still tend to migrate towards the misery. Perhaps there is some truth to the saying ~ Misery loves company.

The attic people are those that find sunshine amidst the clouds. They are the ones that see the glass half full, instead of half empty. Some would consider them to be ‘positive people’ when compared to the miserable ones that are often called, ‘negative people’. Let’s not mistake the fact that the ‘attic people’ are human too. They have feelings, suffer from pain and loss, suffer from the economy just as anyone else. However, they are different as well. Instead of dwelling on the negative or merely mentioning a negative thought, they would rather look on the bright side. The ‘attic people’ will be the ones you turn to for motivation and inspiration.

The opposite of the ‘attic people’ can be considered the ‘basement dwellers’. The ‘basement dwellers’ are quite comfortable in their less than happy situation. Now don’t get me wrong….by no means are either of these types better than the other. There is however a distinct difference. Which would you rather be near? Some would say that the ‘attic people’ are annoying because they are always happy, or again, find the positive in all situations.

A happy medium is essential for the well being of individuals. In order to experience painful situations, you must acknowledge them, however it doesn’t mean that you must live your life dwelling on the negative. Remember pain is essential and suffering is an option. From pain we learn and can apply such lessons to our lives and those around us. Suffering is not healthy and again a choice. Seek out the ‘attic people’. They are ones that are happy and content and believe it or not will influence those around them. Again, the ‘attic people’ are not unstained or without hurt or pain, they simply choose not to suffer and live life to the fullest.

Identify the type of person you are and determine if your life will be happier if different. Personally, I choose to seek the ‘attic people’ but again that is my choice. Which type will you choose?

    Hi…

This is an interesting read… Tough to be an attic person in a bleak time, but easy to identify the need to be truly happy if one is to remain sane *wink* otherwise everything will be overly overwhelming…

    Thanks for sharing, nice concept!

      Hi Tyna,
Thanks for commenting and yes, I agree with the fact that it may be difficult to be happy when situations are somewhat bleak…however the alternative would only make things worse…as the saying goes…why cry over spilled milk…clean it up and keep on going:) {Of course that was my twisted version} :)

Attic people all the way. As I have gotten older, I let go of the negative quicker and quicker. Life is too short
