Busy Women – It’s Time to Make Time for YOU!

Do you make time for you?

If you’re like me you have a planner with all the kid’s activities and appointments, all your business assignments, writing assignments, menus for the week and the list goes on and on.

Do you pencil in time for you?

It is so very important to do this, it is this only way to refresh and start new.

Before you start shaking your head and start coming up with excuses, understand that your children will mimic you. Step back for a second and assess your lifestyle.

Are you placing other’s needs before your needs? You have needs that should not be avoided. And, by the way, it’s not a selfish act to take care of yourself.

As I mentioned, your children will mimic and try to emulate you. Do you want your children to grow up to be stressed out adults? Of course not, right!! So, the lessons begin at home and truly begin with YOU!

It’s important to set some time aside for YOU!

Does it need to be an hour?

No.

Does it require spending money?

No.

What it does require is you setting it up in your planner or electronic device so it gets accomplished. Yes, you read that correctly, you must ‘schedule‘ time for you on your calendar. When you get into the practice of doing this weekly, you will see your life change or at least look differently.

There is one important point that I want to make and I hope it will be one that you will always remember. This point is simple but so often overlooked. The point I am referring to is –> Asking for help

Sounds easy enough, but you’d be surprised how many busy women will overlook or make excuses for not asking for help. And, once they overcome their fear or hesitation, they don’t accept the help! That’s completely insane!

Once you ask for help, you must then —> Accept the help.

If you can implement these two tips into your daily routine you will find that your schedule will lighten and your stress will melt. You will find the time necessary to not only devote to your business, your family and your relationships but will most importantly find time to  devote time to YOU!

So, what are you waiting for?  Pull out your planner and take some time for you! Schedule a nail appointment, hair appointment, or simply time for  a quiet bath.  You will love it and your family will love seeing the new and refreshed you.

Another great article Dr. Mommy. This morning I read in Genesis where “God breathed life into man and he became a living creature”. Honoring God by taking care of ourselves isn’t selfish when it’s done in a way that is affirming of just how precious we are to Him.

    Thanks for reminding us.

Very important for the moms out there to take time out. (Hell, it is important for dads too). I try to give my wife a backwash every now and then as a sign of my appreciation for what she does for our family.

“Me” time is extremely important for women, especailly if they have families. We should all look for ways to spoil our significnant “others”
