What is Your Body Telling You?

How do you feel when you wake up in the morning?  Do your feet hurt?  Is it hard for you to get out of the bed?  What about throughout the day?  Do your knees hurt, does your back ache?

When your body starts giving you these types of signals, that’s just what they are…signals!  Listen to them.  Your body is definitely trying to tell you something.  Some would say these are just the “normal” signs of aging.  I would heartily disagree with that statement.  I don’t believe you have to feel this way, nor do I believe God intended us to acquire all the so-called “diseases of aging”.

Why is it that we think so much about our cars and putting the right fuel in them, making sure the engine is clean with oil changes, and ensuring all the fluids are kept up so that our cars will run at an optimal level, yet we sometimes never consider the food we put into our “engines” either supports our body’s ability to heal or hinders it.  Try feeding your body living (raw), nutrient dense foods for just one week, or even just 3 days, and see what happens.  Chances are you’ll see a difference just in that short amount of time.  Living, raw, fruits and veggies feed your body at a cellular level and create an environment where your body can do what God intended…self heal!

I’ve had many people tell me that eating a high raw diet is too “radical” for them.  It’s too restrictive they say, or too much trouble.  But isn’t it restrictive to have a body that is degenerating long before God intended it to?  Isn’t a long hospital visit a lot of trouble?  Isn’t making sure you have all your medications when you take a trip pretty restrictive?

Without delving into politics, it does seem that we as Americans need to have a major shift in our mindsets about who is in charge of our health because it appears there is coming a day when we will not have the choices we have now about our healthcare.  And maybe that’s a good thing.  Because if you study the human body at all, you can clearly see that God made it to be self-healing.  The problem is that Americans in general put way too much of the wrong fuel in these beautifully designed systems and over a period of time the body just breaks down.

My brother is a doctor.  Most doctors genuinely care about their patients and want the best for them.  Yet, as my brother readily admits, medical school gives very little time to the study of nutrition.   And while nutritional science isn’t a complete science, you can certainly learn to take a very simple approach to eating and not go wrong.  Eating food as close to the way God made it just makes sense.  Leaving out all the processed foods and chemicals in your foods just makes good sense.

I encourage you to experiment with raw foods and see for yourself what affect they have on your body.  And learn to know your body very intimately, and trust it to “tell” you what it needs.

Sobering post Ginny., It’s imperative that we put the right fuel into our bodies. I agree with you that our bodies are not meant to pack up as quickly as they do. and most of this is related to poor dietary choices.

Agree 100% Ginny. It’s amazing how people will make changes after they become ill. If only they would make the changes before falling ill.
